● Basic styling knowledge
● Client consultation and face shapes
● Growth patterns
● Braid removal, scalp care
● Styles and sectioning

200 Hours Combined Classroom and Clinical Instruction

● Single braids with and without extensions
● Cornrows with and without extensions
● Twists and knots
● Multiple strand braiding
● Hair locking/dreading
● Weave/sew-in
● Other procedures as they relate to hair braiding
● Product knowledge as it relates to hair braiding

30 hours

● Illinois Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair Braiding and         Nail Technology Act of 1985 and rules
● Salon Management
● Human Relations and Salesmanship
● Workers Compensation Act
